This is what she had to say about the paper :"I really wanted to see if the pineapple paper could be die cut. I wasn't sure as it is a fibrous paper, yet lovely and soft and was pleasantly surprised to see that it cut and embossed cleanly - no stray bits. I have an original Cuttlebug, so to be safe I did do two passes the first time, but then checked and it still cut cleanly on one pass through the machine. On the first card, I simply used a stylus and foam pad to create the leaf veins and the rounded tips on the petals. I also used white stamens and Ivory Jute ribbon. The second card I embossed the butterfly through the Cuttlebug. The flower on the second card was made with white petals spritzed with Glimmer Mist and Yellow stamens (stamens used for feelers on the butterfly also)."

Pineapple Paper Clearance
We have this beautiful Pineapple paper (and DL envelopes) on clearance at the moment and while they are mainly used for invitations, we asked Peta to see what else she could do with them. She came up with these beautiful cards for Mothers Day.
This is what she had to say about the paper :"I really wanted to see if the pineapple paper could be die cut. Embossed Petals
Sometimes a layout needs a pop of something to finish it off.
We like what Peta did with the petals to make them stand out.

"I was using these beautiful vintage tones on the layout of my in-laws wedding, but they were too muted. I swiped some versamark ink over them, then dipped them in gold embossing powder and heated. This made them stand out a little more and when combined with the gold stamens, Damask flower and gorgeous ribbons, the whole layout felt complete. Vintage doesn't have to be dull."

Colouring In
The acrylic embellishments have been flying off the shelf and while white and ivory are classy, we have been playing around with them to see what we could create:
White pearl cluster coloured with black alcohol ink (Copic, Sharpie etc) and combined with black pearl stamens, 6cm white petals and 15cm black satin ribbon.

" I like the colour of these petals but wanted them a bit darker, so wiped versamark ink over them and embossed them with clear embossing powder that had sparkle in it. That gave them a lovely gloss and a slightly darker colour which set off the pink pearl stamens. I combined them with the large green leaves to tone down all the pink and cream and folder over the 10cm petal to make a bloom and added the silk and Swarovski crystal flowers and the satin rosette to make a nice little cluster."

A Work In Progress
Peta has "blinged up" these petals by embossing them:" I like the colour of these petals but wanted them a bit darker, so wiped versamark ink over them and embossed them with clear embossing powder that had sparkle in it. Joy
Peta has shared this sweet layout with us:
"I wanted to add texture to the page without distracting from the photo, so neutral colours are perfect. Usually I would have gone for brown tones, but I didn't want them to disappear into the new lovely wide burlap so used the silver grey petals with black and cream stamens. I'm loving the stamens, I can create lovely flowers with all the petals that I've bought over the years. I added a few pops of colour with the Washi tape, Damask flower and Tutu flower."
