Today I have some very shabby chic style shares featuring lots of
Green Tara goodies. My first project was inspired by a recent
art class I have been doing in the background with a whimsical
ocean theme and so I have created my version of
a "message in a bottle".
I've used a simple everyday glass bottle,
covering it in torn strips of gauze and painted it in gesso.
Adding a touch of colour in a pink shade really
promotes the shabby look and once it was dry I set about adding
my shabby embellishments.
I've used one of the new Green Tara white blossom vines, wrapping it
around the neck of the bottle, paper string, lots of flowers and leaves
and a touch of gold metallic mesh. This really was a fun project and
a great way to add new life to something that was otherwise headed for the garbage.
"Elsie"
My second project today is a layout again using a classic shabby chic
style combined with my love of white space. For this project I really
wanted to show off these gorgeous paper daisies and demonstrate how
absolutely beautiful they look with a touch of watercolour. I love how
easy these are to create, and you can customise their look to your own
style using some basic mediums. I have simply added a small splash
of colour to the centres, dried them off with a heat tool and then adhered
some paper roses to the centres for that finished look.
I am so loving this technique and I think I will be using it often.
Along the bottom of my design I've added a banner featuring some
White Wire Cord which I coloured with some mist to coordinate
with the rest of my layout.
"Forever"
Here I have another shabby chic style layout which I
have added an ivory Primula as the focus in my cluster.
Next I have added some red & ivory Roses in various
sizes & then I have finished off with some
Autumn Leaves to create some great contrast.
Well thats it from me for another month.
I hope I have inspired you to use some beautiful
Green Tara products on your next project too.
Three great projects Kim but I especially love the wine bottle. Looks stunning & what a fabulous idea too. Great post. Cheers Di xo
