Farewell & Hello.....

It is with much sadness that we bid our old
design team farewell. They have all been such great inspiration
to us all & a great pleasure to work alongside. Thanks ladies for
being such wonderful ambassadors for Green Tara.

It is with great excitement that we formally welcome our
NEW design team as well as some returning members too.
Our new team hails from all over the world & between
them, they  bring so much talent & diversity.
They start showcasing their beautiful work, both here
on the blog & facebook  in November.

So without further ado, please welcome the
 NEW
Green Tara Design Team.

Jelissa Mei - Singapore

My name is Jelissa Mei and I hail from sunny Singapore where it's
summer nearly all year round. I work full-time as a forensics scientist
and as a mother of two rowdy boys aged 1.5 and 3.5. I started
out by taking photos when I scuba-dived and that evolved into to
taking pictures of my sons when they were born. That was when
I discovered scrapbooking as a unique and beautiful way of preserving
those cherished childhood memories. I hope to make wedding gifts
out of these creations to give to my boys one day, to remind them
that they are precious and to hold on to the important things in life.

 Maria Featon - Australia

My name is Maria Featon & I am a wife and mother from lovely
Southeast Queensland, Australia. I discovered scrapbooking when my
daughter was born in 2008 and it quickly became an obsession!
I loved it so much I went on to work in the papercrafting industry in
various roles including retail management and teaching. I am now happily
employed at The Scrap N Patch as a retail assistant and teacher of
scrapbooking, card making and mixed media classes. My style varies
a bit, but the common theme is texture and dimension. I love the
versatility of Green Tara products to suit my different creative moods.
It's a real honour to be joining the design team and I look forward to
creating alongside such an inspirational group of ladies.

 Pascale B. - France

"Hi, my name is Pascale. I'm live in France, near Tours,
with my two teenagers. I started scrapbooking at the end
of 2010.  One of my hobbies is photography and over the
years I've taken a lot,  really a lot, of pictures, but they always
stay in my computer.  I've always like handicraft. So scrapbooking is
just a way to combine two of my hobbies. A way to express my
creativity and to showcase my photos. Since I began to scrap, flowers are
part of my layouts, and I gradually started to use mixed media as well.
I don’t know how to define my own style,  perhaps something like
free vintage shabby style could be a good definition.
But it’s up to you to judge :) "

Sandrine Dawes - Australia

“My name is Sandrine, I am French but call Australia home, I live in
Western Queensland in a little town called Roma.I have been
scrapbooking for 6 years, it is a very important part of my life, it is a
great creative release, I love creating memories of my family especially
my children. 12×12 layouts and mini albums are my favourite things
to create! My style is definitely shabby, love love love soft colours and
designs, I love incorporating lots of different textures in my work.
I also design for Scrapping Outack and Imaginarium Designs Chipboard.
I am very proud and honoured being on the Green Tara Design Team!”

Shinobu Hiramatsu - Japan

Hello everyone!!
My name is Shinobu Hiramatsu.
I am so excited and happy to be here on the Green Tara Design team!!
I am 35 years old and I live in Chiba Japan with my 4 beautiful
children and wonderful husband.
I'm not good at English, but I am studying it with joy.
I discovered scrapbooking in 2006, but was unable to scrap so much
because my physical condition was not good for three of my  pregnancies.
Now, I'm very well and addicted to scrapbooking so much!!
I love to use flowers, lace, trims and misting with some photos of my children.

Susan Longman - Australia

My name is Susan Longman and I am from Tasmania Australia.
I am a SAHM that runs a couple home industries while  my children
are at school. I am a professional face painter and I have a handmade
embellishments business on FB.  I have always indulged in a creative
past time and love that my artistic side is now something I can do fulltime.
I have 2 amazing children, Ashton my boy who is 9 and Eve my daughter
who is 71/2. They are my whole life and the subject of almost all of
my layouts. My man, Rob and I have been together 12 years and he is
amazing about my love for this craft and supports me in every part of it,
including my spending. I am really excited to be on the Green Tara DT
and look forward to sharing my creation using their gorgeous products.

 Ulrika Blomfelt - Sweden

My name is Ulrika Blomfelt aka LillBlomman.  If I translate LillBlomman
into English it kind of means Small Flower. I live close to Stockholm,
Sweden’s capital, with my hubbie Anders, my son Viggo and our dog Molle.
When I´m not in my studio I love to take care of my family, home and garden.
I started scrapbooking in April 2006 and love it more and more each day.
I feel the best when I get to create a few moments each day in my studio
I love everything about Scrapbooking and all that comes along with it.
I am a scrapbooker who creates in all genres as alter, layouts,
cards and mixed-media. I like to set my creativity free and always
learn more and develop in my art.
I´m really looking forward to working  with all lovely products from
Green Tara and being a part of this talented Design Team!

Di Garling - Australia
Design Team Co Ordinator

Hi my name is Di Garling. I am married to a very patient man, I have
two grown up sons & unfortunately I am now an empty nester.
I own a Scrapbook shop called "Di's Scrapbooks" located on
the sunny Central Coast of NSW in Australia at a place called
The Entrance, where I teach both scrapbooking & cardmaking.
I do a lot of the design work for my shop too which I started back
in  2006.  I think I am obsessed with all things paper. I am also
Design Team Co ordinator for 2 Crafty Chipboard, so my
life is pretty busy, & I wouldn't have it any other way.
I have been  DT Co ordinator for Green Tara for two & a half years
& I am so happy to be back again to hopefully inspire you.

Jan Rankine - Australia

daughter and grandson and a Chihuahua who thinks she is a Great Dane.
I also have two sons and another two grandchildren. I love scrapbooking
and I teach classes as well as being on the Design Team at
Di's Scrapbook Shop at The Entrance.   I've been on the
Green Tara Design Team for a couple of terms now and I love
working with their beautiful products.  I've dabbled in lots of craft over
the years - at the moment I'm into Parchment Craft as well as scrapbooking
and a little bit of cardmaking. Off The Page projects fascinate me
as well. I'm looking forward to sharing my work and interests
 with you in the future.

Linda Thompson - Australia

Hi my name is Linda, I married my soul mate in 1997 and
we have 8 children 2yrs to 20ys with only one boy.
We also have a 1yr old grandson.
We live in NSW Australia and I'm a SAHM. I have been
scrapping for 9yrs. After the birth of a very premature baby,
a friend took me to a class to take my mind of my sick daughter,
after that I was addicted.  In those 8yrs I have had the pleasure
to be on the Green Tara DT for 3yrs along with several other
Design Teams. I have been lucky enough to have a supportive
partner who helped me own my own scrapbooking store for 6yrs.
I used to only do pages but have recently discovered I really enjoy
altered art and OTP items too. I would have to say I am addicted
to flowers & chipboard.  I love to use inks & mists on just about
everything I do. With 7 girls just about all my pages etc are very
girly but now with a new grandson I can finally throw some
boyish things in there too, but I do hope he likes flowers!!!
I am excited to be continuing with Green Tara and look
forward to sharing my inspiration with you all.

My Farewell Projects by Mistra Hoolahan

Today I have to share with you my very last posts as a member
of the Green Tara Design Team.

Our gorgeous goddaughter stopped with us a few days on her way
down south, and again on her way back home, and as always it
was so wonderful to see her.  Unfortunately like all 16yo girls,
trying to get a photo of her is near impossible, so when I get
 some they become my treasures!

This layout was a quick snap of Kel an her… Kel as always
being a total goose, and Courtney trying to best to tolerate him.

I adore this Sage Satin Rosette, the colour is most divine and was
perfect for these papers.  I felt the shape of it also would be a
lovely compliment to the Cogs I've used on the layout.

The white flower clusters soften the cog clusters...

I have used the Flat Petals under the flowers and cogs as it
emulates the teeth on the cogs...

____________________________________________________

I started this layout wayyyy back in February this year… and I just
couldn't quite get it happening.  This weekend gone I pulled it out
again and it all came together so easily.  Just goes to show that
sometimes it's best to just walk away and try again later!

The one part of the layout that was working for me were the
Green Tara flowers.  I had chosen my favourite Cherry Blossoms,
Sakura, flat Petals, Roses and a Moss Wild Rose.

The White Flower Lace Ribbon helped add just that little more white to
balance the layout.  This lace is very versatile, it can be layered, used
as is or cut up to add tiny accents.

For my very last share I decided to make a sweet little gift box topped
with some beautiful flowers and my favourite ribbon.

"Gift Box"

I edged the lid of the box with Silver Diamante Trim, adding some
elegance to the box and tying in the silver butterfly charm
and foil pattern on the paper.

The lovely lavender and lilac tones worked so well together…

It has truly been an honour to have been a part of this wonderful team
for the last few years… I still remember my absolute excitement when
I received the phone call asking me to join the team.  It really was a
dream come true!  Thank you Alison and Di for everything, it has been
a fabulous experience working with such quality products, and people!
I promise I won't be a stranger… Green Tara products are well and
truly in my creative 'Blood'!  xoxo

My Last Creations for Green Tara
By Marie-Josee

Hello all,

Today is my last post for Green Tara. First, I want to thank everybody
for this wonderful opportunity and tell all members of the team how much
I appreciated my term with them. I also want to give a warm welcome
to the new Green Tara girls! :)

Today, I have three altered projects for you, all based on the same
collection by My Mind's Eye. Here they are!

Hot Air Balloon Canvas
I created the background of this 5 x 7 mixed media canvas with
Luminarte products  (Silks and Twinkling H2O's), gesso, black ink,
 stamps and black pen.

I used a big flower under my hot air balloon chipboard. Those flowers
are sold in pack containing 22 flowers of various shapes and sizes.
This one is the biggest of the package. The color is Sky Blue.

Then I created a bow with jute ribbon (color ivory), which I glued
to my chipboard. I also added some thread and a tiny rose on top.

Mixed Media Tag

I created the background of this mixed media tag with Twinkling H2O's
watercolors, washi tape, stamps and black ink.

Then, I added a chipboard, some skeleton leaves as well as
two flowers, an azalea and a tiny rose.

I created a huge bow with a piece of pink polka dot ribbon.

Gift box

I used a spice container to create this tiny gift box. First, I covered it
with patterned paper and stickers and added details with
 stamps, black ink and mists.

I decorated the top with a blue flower from the same package
I mentioned above (pack of 22 flowers). This time though, I chose
a smaller flower, but one that was slightly bigger than my lid.

Then, I added a bow made with a piece of jute ribbon, a a skeleton leaf
and a tiny rose. I also added a bit of white acrylic paint to my flowers.

Thanks again for all your nice comments during my term with Green Tara!

October Creations by Rachael Funnell

Hello there Rachael with you today....
I have two layouts & a tag to share!!
With my first layout of my hubby & SIL.I wanted to work
with the blues & greens from the photo, I knew straight away I
was going to add some of the gorgeous 2 toned
Cherry blossoms in Blue & Green.
Also in the cluster on the right side are some petals,
black stamens & green ferns which I have rubbed lightly
with some black ink...

Then across the bottom of photo is a strip of Sliver Diamante Trim,
then with the black Raffa, I wanted to have strips but found it
was looking all a bit thick, so I pulled & ripped it into thinner strips,
then added a Wire Heart.  I also have strips of  washi tapes -
10 favorite things, Love & Film strip....
