Shadow Box Canvas
By Kim Price

Hello everyone, today I wanted to show you a little project
I have been working on.
I created this 8x8 shadow box canvas by using the back of the canvas rather than the conventional front. Using lots of gesso and some masking tape I was able to create a more polished look to the raw edges of the stapled canvas. I first saw this idea used by Chantelle Huizenga and instantly fell in love with it and so I have created my own version using a generous sprinkling of Green Tara goodies.

I started by adding strips of Green Tara laces to my background and coating it all in gesso which creates a wonderful texture to build on. Adding a light sprinkling of colour using an opaque mist I then began to add my layers of white twisted wire and flowers. Here are some more detailed photographs of my project.

This is some closer detail of the flower cluster
with the Green Tara lace background.

A more detailed photograph of the small corner cluster
featuring knotted Green Tara Paper String.
