Just Too Cute by Di Garling

"Just Too Cute"

Thought I would like to share this page with you all. I absolutely love this photo & thought it deserved a special page. I have used these fabulous Green Tara "Gardenias", leaves & a Rosebud. I have to say that these "Gardenias" a just gorgeous. I have put lots of Irredescent Medium on them to shimmer them up, but I have left the leaves untouched to create a nice contrast. The little trim accross the bottom of the page is also another one from Green Tara (It comes in different colours). The chipboard words & flourishes are from "Words or Whatever". I have painted them & used "Stickles" to glitter them up. The Border punch I have used is yet another new one of Martha Stewarts "Around the Page" sets. These are soooo nice. I have also used an Irredescent Gold "Glimmermist" on the background to add a little bit more shimmer.

The great thing about purchasing white or cream flowers etc. is that it is so easy to Glimmermist, ink, paint etc them to change the colous to whatever you need at the time. Also these flowers are a fraction of the cost of some of the well know brands.

Hope you get some ideas from this page. Happy Scrapping. Until next time. Di xx

Picture Perfect by Di Garling

"Picture Perfect" On this page I have punched around the edge with a new Martha Stewart "Around the Page" Punch set. Next I have sprayed Glimmermist in a random fashion. The patterned paper I have wet (under the tap) yes, you heard right. While it is wet I have scrunched it fairly heavily, then set aside to dry.I have used a metallic paint on the little chipboard hearts & words. Then for the flowers, this was the fun part. All of these flowers are Green Tara. I have changed them a little by various means. The right hand Aqua flower is just a large size petal that I sliced into the middle, applied glue & just rolled it up to give it lots of volume. The left side Aqua flower is actually four medium size flat petals, glued in half & then glued together, again this creates volume. (Perhaps we might post a tutorial on this technique soon) The large flower in the middle of the cluster is one I just rolled up out of left over paper.I have also used Green Tara roses in various sizes & a cute little Green Tara Flower Spray. To give them a bit of wow factor I have given all the flowers a coat of "Irredescent Medium", this a a yummy shimmer. Lastly I have applied "Diamond Dust" to all the flower edges. This gives them all a real sparkle. I hope this pages gives you all a few ideas for altering flowers. Happy Scrapping. Di xx

Grins & Giggles by Di Garling

"Grins & Giggles" This was a page I designed for a class at my shop. I had been dying to use this Green Tara mesh. It comes in so many colours, there is sure to be a colour that will match pretty much any page you are working on. Anyway I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, when I came up with the idea of simply pleating it & using great big oversize cross stitches to attach it to the page. Sometimes the simplest ideas are often the best. Anyway I was rather pleased with the result. Hope you like this idea for using mesh. Happy Scrapping. Di xx

My Girl by Di Garling

."My Girl" This was yet another page I designed for a class at my shop. I had just got delivery of this great little "leaves by the metre" from Green Tara & was absolutely dying to use it.These little leaves come in various colours. New product is the thing that always gives me inspiration. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do with it, all I knew was that I was definately going to get it on my page. I am happy with the end result where I collected a little buch of twigs, tied them together & just wound the leaves through the twigs. I then sewed this little bundle onto my page. I am a very "lumpy bumpy" scrapper. I love dimension, I just hate flat.I have used all "natural" things in this layout. Kraft paper, corrugated card, the natural coloured Green Tara mesh just set it all off & lastly raffia. I hope this page gives you some ideas. Happy Scrapping. Di xx

2 Fabulous Cards

These 2 beautiful cards by Di Garling of Di's Scrapbooks at The Entrance have used Green Tara Apple blossoms to create some 3 dimensional depth to her cards.

Di has altered the blossoms using some colour and diamond glitter.

These photos don't really do justice to how great the cards really look!

Love the Green Tara roses in the corner as well!

hooroo Alison, here is my latest project...the canvas size is 50x40 cm
