Hat Box, Cherry Blossoms and
Butterfly Wall Hanging
By Mistra Hoolahan

Hat Box

Hi everyone!!

When my hubby was working, he bought home a little brown 'hat box' for me to decorate, thinking I'd like it.  He's pretty clever because I sure did!  It actually started out as a container for industrial 'o-rings' and often the boxes are stained from oil inside, but this one was perfect.  I finally found just the right everything to get it made!

Underneath the rim of the lid I adhered some Green Tara Lace Trim, and added some sweet butterflies flittering about.

I added a cluster of Green Tara Cherry Blossoms, Roses and an Organza Poppy in colours to match the papers.  One of the Cherry Blossoms I sprayed with watered down aqua paint to get just the shade I needed, then added a couple of big Polka Dot Organza bows.

The inside edge of the lid was trimmed with some Loop Trim, which finishes the edge of nicely.

Cherry Blossoms

I found this gorgeous photo while looking for backgrounds for my phone, all those cherry blossoms and birds... I had to scrap it!

I have a little album that I create with photos that call to me, usually nature ones... and I find Haiku Poems to add with them, love them!

I have used Green Tara's fabulous cherry blossoms, apple blossoms and gardenia's for this one, all in such delightful shades of pink.

I tied some bows to accent the flower 'bouquets'...

and used some of Green Tara's gorgeous satin edged organza ribbon, flower edged organza, stitched grosgrain and lace sequin ribbon, along with lace which I overlayed to create some border details.

Flowers:
Cherry Blossoms, Pink - FLC22P
Cherry Blossoms, TwoToned Pink - FLC22PPP
4cm Apple Blossoms, Pink White - FDV044P
6cm Gardenias, Pink - FDV054P

Ribbons/Lace:
10mm Lace Sequin Ribbon - RB309Wh
15mm Flower Edge Organza, Pale Pink - RB221PP
3mm Stitched Grosgrain, Pink/White - RB244P/W
23mm Satin Edged Organza, Pale Pink - RB16PP

Butterfly Wall Hanging

I also wanted to share something I created earlier for a work colleague.  I wanted to get her something special to say thanks for her kindness in helping me out lately but couldn't think what... and then I thought I could make her something... and created this little wall hanging.

I tried to keep all the tones neutral because I wasn't familiar with her home decor, but it needed just that little splash of red {lucky guess, it's her fave colour!}

I have created a cluster of flowers with Cherry Blossoms, Apple Blossoms, Roses plus a Tutu and an Organza Poppy.

I've tied bows with Natural Jute Ribbon, and also used this to create a hanger for it.

The red Cherry Blossoms were originally white, I just spritzed them with some of Clearsnap's Holly Berries and Tea Party Smooch Spritz to get the perfect colour I needed.

Flowers:
Roses, Cherry Blossoms, Gardenias, Tutu and Poppy

Ribbon:
Natural Jute Ribbon

Three Mixed Media Layouts
by Marie-Josée Hamel

Hello, Green Tara fans!

I am really happy to feature today my latest mixed media layouts.
A few weeks ago, I fell in love with a new product, the Silks paints,
which are made by Luminarte, and since then, I am using them
on almost every project I create! I think they mix beautifully with all
the Green Tara products, and thus, I am featuring three layouts
combining both products today. I used my paints to alter
my background, my flowers and my ribbons.

Mon amour:

For this layout, I decided to use contrasting colors,
which are orange and teal. I love this color combination.
I created  my background from scratch, using lots of mediums
(acrylic paint, gel medium, gesso, Silks paints, etc.) on a chipboard.
Then, I added a few layers of papers, as well as a
Green Tara ribbon and Green Tara flowers.

I used the Cobweb ribbon in Teal as a backdrop for my flowers.
I love how it blends in with the cluster.

All in purple:

Yes, this layout doesn't have a title. It doesn't happen often,
but sometimes, I just cannot seem to find the right title,
 so I don't put any.

Unlike many scrappers, I LOVE purple and I use it often
on my layouts. I was very happy to find quite a few purple flowers,
ribbons and ornaments in the box I received from Green Tara.
I decided to use them to create a monochromatic layout.

Did you notice that I used two different types of ribbon on this layout?
The first one is pretty obvious: it is the dark purple one that I used
under my flower cluster, the Self-adhesive flower garland in Lavender.
As the name indicates, it used to be a lighter shade of purple,
namely lavender. I decided to use a bit of Silks paints on it so
that it matches the paint colors I used on my background.
The name of the color is Snap Dragon.

As for the other ribbon, I used it to create two flowers.
See that purple and fuschia flower on the right side?
I used the Pleated Organza Ribbon in Plum to create it,
and I put a brad in the middle to hold everything together.

Rire:

Here's my third and last project for today, which I created for
one of my design teams, Creative Scrappers. It is based
 on sketch #237. Once more,
I used Silks paints to create my background.

As you can see, I have used lots of Green Tara flowers
 in orange and pink hues.

The Beauty of Green Tara
By Natasha Naranjo Aguirre

Hi Green Tara friends!  Natasha here with a few projects to share with you using a variety of gorgeous Green Tara flowers, lace and ribbon.

Trinket Box

I purchased this adorable wooden trinket box
 from my local craft store.

I covered the entire surface with gesso, and using a stencil,
I applied a texture medium to create an interesting pattern
on the sides of the box.  I then sprayed the entire box with ink.

I mostly used Apple Blossoms in plum & white to
decorate this box.  I also adorned the front side with lace.

Instead of throwing away small leftover pieces of lace,
I cut them apart and added them to the floral clusters.

The box opens up and inside there is a small mirror.
The front section of the box pulls out so that you can store
your goodies inside the drawer.

Adore & Treasure

I created this home decor piece using a 6x6
decorative frame by The Dusty Attic.  The surface of the frame
is covered with Pion Design papers.

This gorgeous floral cluster is made up of Gardenias,
Roses, Calla Lillies and Mini Rose Buds.

I also used bits of Green Tara lace to adorn the inner frames.

Happy Memories

I made this layout using Bo Bunny's Et Cetera collection.
I love the earth tones of these papers!

I created a textured background using a stencil and ceramic stucco.
I then added splotches of color using spray ink.

The title, "Happy Memories" is a chipboard set by The Dusty Attic.

The beautiful rust flowers are Hibiscus flowers by Green Tara.
The color is lovely!  I also added light brown roses to my layout
to complement all the earth tones.

The mesh ribbon behind the photo and under the edges
of my layout is also by Green Tara.  It's amazing how just a little
piece of ribbon can add such amazing texture to a project.

"Cherish" & "Little sprout" by Vicky

"Cherish"

Hello Green Tara fans!!!
I must admit that I am a huge fan too now!!!
The more I use them the more addicted I get!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything from the green Tara range!!!

This is a wedding layout and I wanted it to be romantic but bold and
artsy at the same time! So I used lots of flowers and lace and
romantic stamps with Angels and love notes.
For the artsy part, I used a brick stencil, white texture effect
by Martha Stewart, mists and white paint which I
 applied randomly onto the flowers!

You can see below the sweet little
Rainforest Butterfly and that lace trim
which is perfect to use as a border!!!

I just can't get enough of gardenias, apple blossoms and roses!
These colors make a perfect match with the purple velvet leaves!!!

The star of this composition is that Heirloom Silk and Organza flower
combined with one of my favorite ribbon, Lavender Jute!!!

One of my favorite funky ribbon is that Fuschia Cobweb!!!
It is SO impressive!!! You can also use it with gesso or molding paste
as a stencil!!! I will do that and show you next time ;)
In this cluster the big center flower is called
Burgundy Laurel and is so delicate!!
You can see the Aster Batik again, the beautiful Heirlooms
and the pink Tutu which is perfect for girly/baby projects!!

If  you look closer, you will see that I have used an Australian
postage stamp (at the left), just to show my love for all the
Australian friends I have made and the beautiful
Australian goodies I get to use!
 I am so blessed!!!
