2 Layouts and a Card
by Mistra Hoolahan

Our Sweet Girl

Hi everyone!  Today I have a couple of simple layouts to share with you using monochromatic colour schemes.  This first using just Black, White and Green as it's feature.  I was sorting through my papers, ready to cull them since they were overflowing their storage.  I try to do this at least once a year, put them back into order, sort out ones I like but haven't used and pass them onto my mum.   When doing this I found these old papers and just knew I had to use them.

While looking for what colour to use with them I found the green toned flowers, perfect!  Bright and happy and something a little unusual!  I have used Roses, Primula's and Silk with Swarovski Crystal flowers on this one, as well as one of my favourite lace trims.

They may only be sweet little clusters... but with the monotone background they really add impact!

I've stamped some of the background with some stamps, painted a wooden butterfly white and then sprayed across the stamped and clustered areas with Green Olive Smooch Spritz.  As always the flowers and the lace hold the colours beautifully.

Odd One Out

This one focuses on purple! When I was younger, purple used to be a favourite colour of mine, everything I wore or had in my room was purple, but nowadays it's not a colour I usually use... I often shy away from it, however, I found this photo in my stash of NY photos when I created my True Romance layout and I knew right away that this one NEEDED the purple Heirloom Flowers, it was a perfect match!  I grabbed them out of my stash {all my flowers and trims are bagged by colours, making them really easy to find} and also found the Primulas and Cherry Blossoms matched beautifully also.  Making this layout loads of fun, and easy to finish!

I've created clusters with Heirloom Flowers, Cherry Blossoms, Primulas and White Petals and accented them with Silver Diamante Trim, Lace and Tulle.  And last but not least added a couple of Green Tara's sweet Embossed Butterflies.

I folded the White Petals in half and tucked them in under the clusters to soften the edges.  The small Heirloom Rose was a little large for my cluster so I removed the bottom layer of petals, and then tucked this in up on the top left, adding interest and keeping the exact tone I needed.

The handmade ruffle was topped off with a layer of White Tulle, Lace and some Silver Diamante Trim.

I have also cut the Heart Diamante Trim to individual hearts to use as little 'trinket' accents throughout the page.

Once the layout was all put together I covered the photo and sprayed with Mixed Berries Smooch Spritz to add some more of the purple tones throughout.

High Tea Card

One last share with you all today, a sweet little card I made just for the fun of it. I was rummaging through my charms and found this sweet teapot and teacup, and after having just sorted all my papers out I remembered the sweet teacup images on Pion's "For Mother" range, so created a cute little High Tea card.  I love High Tea, would love to go with some girlfriends one day to one of the fancy places... but there's nothing wrong with having sweet little treats and teacups at home on a girly day in!

I have trimmed the card with these gorgeous flowers and ribbons and laces.  I have used a Pincushion flowers and layered it with a Lace Pearl flower in matching tones.  Then I've tied a big floofy bow using Polka Dot Organza ribbon.   This ribbon really is the ultimate in girly sweetness... it's just one of those perfect ribbons!

Two Layouts and an Altered Frame
By Marie-Josée

"Smile" layout

Two weeks ago, I created a layout almost similar to the one below,
but for another DT, without Green Tara flowers. After the fact, I realized
that some Green Tara flowers I had in my stash would be perfect
to recreate this layout in a different color! :) Here it is.

I created my background from scratch on a piece of 12 x 12 chipboard,
using gesso, acrylic paint, medium gel, Silks acrylic glazes, and mists.
I did not want to use any paper because I wanted to focus the
attention on the flowers, the leaves and the bow and,
of course, the picture.

I created this big cluster of leaves and flowers with Calla Lilies,
Rosebuds, Mini Roses and Velvet Leaves.
I changed the color of the Calla Lilies with a bit of red Glimmer Mist
In case you wonder, the plastic leaves are from my own personal stash
and were bought at a dollar store here, in Canada.

I also used a piece of green Wire Cord that I twisted around
my picture and stapled to my chipboard.

If you are curious, here is the original layout
 and then the  two side-by-side.

I used a piece of Jute Ribbon in Olive on this layout,
as well as the green Wire Cord.

"Wonderful Beautiful Amazing" layout

Here's my second layout for this month. I created the background
from scratch on a piece of 12" x 12" chipboard, using mists and water.

Once again, I used the beautiful wire cord as part of my flower cluster.
I also used one of my favorite "techniques", which is to combine big
and tiny flowers. I especially love the big Damask flower in lavender!
I also cut my Flower Spray and added the tiny flowers to my cluster.

Altered frame
This is an altered frame that I created for another DT, using lots of
mixed media techniques. I bought a textured frame at a dollar store
and altered it with gesso and acrylic paint. Then, I added lots of mediums:
Glimmer Mist, Dylusions inks, Inka Gold paint, etc.
I arranged my flowers and leaves in a cluster.

I also brushed a bit of white acrylic paint over my flowers
to give them a weathered look.

Stepping Outside My Comfort Zone
By Di Garling

"YOU"

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by the blog today.
I have three layouts to share with you, the first two I have
stepped way way outside of my comfort zone, & I have
to say that I am rather pleased with the results.
As most of you that know my work will know, my style
is rather "shabby chic" so I set myself the challenge to
do modern with a touch of minimilist. I have done those lovely
watery backgrounds that my fellow DT member Kim Price
is so famous for & I have based this first layout on the current
sketch from "Once Upon A Sketch".

Naturally I have used lots of gorgeous Green Tara goodies
including this fab black & white  "Herringbone Ribbon". I
really think this ribbon makes such a statement.

I have also used one of the new Green Tara "Azelea" flowers as well
as some of their "Roses" & "Rosebuds". I have simply misted
them in the same colours as I did the background & just applied
more to increase the density of the colour.

Next up I  used some of the NEW black "Burlap" ribbon too.
This is available in various colours. I just love this stuff,
especially the natural shades which no doubt you will see the
girls all using over the coming weeks.

In this pic you can see I have also used some of the Green Tara
black "Suede Cord" too.
The perfect piece of whimsy when combined with some roses.

All of my chipboard here, including the title, arrows, cogs &
mini filmstrips, are from 2 Crafty chipboard.

'FOREVER"

This would definitely be the most minimilist layout I have ever done !!!
I have used the Green Tara "Cobweb Mesh" tucked in underneath
the photo & again at the top in the small cluster.
I think on the plain background, this mesh really packs a punch.
It is available in lots of great colours too.

I have also used some of these beautiful black Green Tara
"Silk Flowers with Swarovski Crystal Centres"
teamed with some of their  black & yellow "Roses" &
I finished off with some of their black "Skeleton Leaves".
Simple & stylish.

Hello Green Tara friends!!!

This is a layout I have made using the sketch of a talented friend of mine
 from Greece,  Melenia Agapides!
It is all about women and what could be more feminine than
 Green Tara products?

On both sides of my center strip of paper I have placed a beautiful
Green Tara  lace!!
Here and there I have added pieces of the diamante trim!

Below you can see the GORGEOUS big butterfly, ivory, hot pink and
pink roses, the amazing cobweb mesh in pink and bud n bow pink!

To give texture to the beautiful Scrapmatts doll, I have made a bow
using the gorgeous coloured jute ribbon!

months ago and now I can finally share it !!
My friend Rachael Funnel has made an awesome "red riding hood"
layout too! If you missed it click HERE!
It is a fun theme to try out and the kids will love to play along!!!
It is my daughter Nefeli, she is wearing a red coat and she is holding
a basket full of flowers...the title came very easily to my mind..haha
Sketch by Angela Star.

In this cluster you can see black cobweb mesh, ivory roses,
velvet green leaves, black maple leaves, red satin rosette,
brown lace pearl flower and the beautiful organza wild rose!!!

A beautiful black primula flower and the vertical stripes red ribbon
