Hi again everyone! Today I wanted to share a few really exciting things I have been working on over the past few weeks. I have absolutely fallen head over heels for the Green Tara texture papers and have featured them in two of my projects today so you can get an idea of just how fabulous they are.
In this first creation I have upcycled an old coffee jar and given it a gorgeously French chic look using a vintage style label and lots of Green Tara goodies. To achieve this amazing marble/alabaster look simply apply some torn Mango Leaf paper onto a dried gesso base using some Mod Podge or similar! The effect is simply stunning!
I have then used Green Tara tulle, paper string and pearls to create a tattered bow at the top of my jar and finished the whole thing off with some fabulous Green Tara blooms.
Here is a closer look at the amazing Mango Paper technique along with the rows of trim covering the screw top lid.
And another look at the tattered tulle bow. You can recreate this look by carefully applying heat with a heat tool, taking extra care not to apply heat for too long. This results in the tulle randomly melting and creating "holes" in the bow for a gorgeous shabby look.

For my second project I have used a 12x12 sheet of handmade mulberry paper, adding some glimmery colour with some mist and then creating my arrangement on top. I have used some brand new Green Tara Azalea flowers which are oh so beautiful along with a skeleton leaf, some sweet little satin leaf trim and a large loopy suede bow.
Aren't these new azaleas just gorgeous! And they look so great with some satin leaf trim peeking out from behind them!
Here is a closer look at the dimension and detail - and you can also see more of the gorgeous texture in the mulberry paper.

And for my last project I thought I would share this layout which I made a couple of weeks ago featuring a some handpainted paper flowers from Green Tara. These are so simple to create and they look wonderful all painted up and layered together. Add some Green Tara stamens for that finishing touch and these flowers really pack a punch.
Here is a closer look at my handmade daises with the stamen centres, along with some velvet leaves and metallic trim.
I have been using skeleton leaves in my projects since the day I started scrapbooking 11 years ago now and they are still one of my favourite embellishments. Here I have used a hot pink leaf to coordinate with the rest of the layout. Such a simple touch but it adds so much texture and interest to your finished page.
