Happiness

Hi everyone... today I have a layout of myself and my hubby to share with you, a rare snap because usually one of us is the one behind the camera.  I have used some papers I found in my stash that were a lovely soft grey tone, and had intended on creating a monochromatic colour scheme, but I needed to add some colour and this olive green was just perfect. 

I coloured the tips of some white petals with Mossy Mix'd Media Inx, as well as the edges of my paper layers.  The white Cherry Blossoms were sprayed with watered down paint, to match the colour tones I created in the background papers.  They colour so beautifully, without falling apart.

I have used Silk Flowers with Swarovski Crystal Centres, Cherry Blossoms, 3cm Roses and a Primula to create this sweet cluster... the new Primula's are beautiful and just the perfect size!

I have trimmed up the heart Silver Diamante Trim to create little embellishments, they have a wonderful sparkle to them.  I've also added some Dew Drops just to add that little extra interest to the page - they compliment flower clusters perfectly!

And now a layout with some new photos of me!  Finally not a self portrait either, love this photo!  Last year was a roller coaster ride, serious lows with some amazing highs... I'm hoping for a smoother journey this year.  Whatever comes though, I'm going to enjoy this journey and take comfort in all those wonderful little things!

I have had fun with some big blooms here!!  The stunning Laurel, my favourite Heirloom flowers, Silk Flowers with Swarovski Crystal Centres and the beautiful Primula's.

I have placed the title on a Coloured Jute Ribbon background... 

... and creates beautiful bows!

Creative Wings Journal

I also wanted to share this altered journal with you which I created last month.  I re-covered a Dusty Journal, but instead of rebinding with the wire, I used Green Tara's Satin Rat Tail Cord, it was perfect and I love the look of it, much softer than the wire!

I love the new Teal colour of the Heirloom Flowers... I saved this one for special!  Teamed up with a smaller 4cm Heirloom Flower, Sakura, Roses and Cherry Blossoms it created such a wonderful impact within the 'bouquet'.

I've used some gorgeous lace with a border of pearl organza and silver diamante trim, I adore this Wave patterned one!

I've got no idea what I'm going to keep in here... it's too delicate for an art journal... perhaps I'll keep some sketches and inspirational idea in there.  No matter what, it will be something creative!
