"Embrace Your Imagination"
Reverse Canvas
By Mistra Hoolahan

Hi everyone... today I have a reverse canvas to share with you!  I love creating these, they always turn out different and have a mind of their own I'm sure.

This one started out as brown tones, and ended up quite pink, which was lucky because I had just the perfect Green Tara flowers for it!

I have used loads of the Burgundy Petals in various sizes on here, some underneath the impasto medium to give a 'shadow' of the petals, and others to create my own ultra boofy flowers by folding in half, then in half again and wrapping with more halved layers until I get a gorgeous full bloom.  These flat petals are a favourite of mine on my mixed media work, because of their wonderful versatility!

I have also used some 3cm Pink and White Roses, sweet 1.5cm Fuschia Roses and the lovely 3cm Burgundy Velvet Leaves.

Clusters of the handmade blooms using the Petal layers.

A close up on the words... the lace behind is a vintage doily that used to grace my grandparents home.

... some Dusty Attic chipboard, always perfect for creating lovely scenes!

And a final snippet of the corner embie cluster... love those Roses softening the chipboard corner flourish!

I hope you all liked my reverse canvas... each new one I create becomes a favourite, making them ever so hard to part with when the time comes!!

Until next time, take care and be true to you!!

Mis xo

The Journey With You
By Geraldine Pasinati

Hi there everyone!  Today I wanted to show you a layout that is softer in palette and far more graphic in style than I would normally do. I wanted the flowers to stand out here in their natural beauty. I have used the stunning Ivory 'Damask' flower as the main focus.

In the bottom corner I have used the soft 'Heirloom' Silk and Organza flower coupled with a white Rose painted with a hint of antique white paint to match perfectly.

Thank you for dropping in! Stay a while and enjoy the blog. G!

"Beautiful Dreamer"
By Guest Designer Keren Tamir

Hi everyone. Thanks for calling by the blog today. We have this months "Guest Designer" Keren Tamir from Canada back with us. In her layout Keren has used lots of our favourite Green Tara fabric flowers as well as some of their sweet little leaves. I do so love this colour combo Keren. She has also used some of the Green Tara Crinkle Edged Organza ribbon around her circle to create a frilled border. Great idea Keren.

In this close up you can see Keren has combined several different Green Tara flowers to create a stunning flower cluster. She has also used some lovely Green Tara Skeleton Leaves as well as some of their Oak Leaves  & then finished it off by adding a couple of these darling little Silver & Pearl Sprays.

You can see in this close up at the side of this beautiful Lime "Sakura" flower she has used another Pearl & Silver Spray. All of the bright orange flowers on this layout Keren has sprayed to achieve this colour, so simple yet so effective & the perfect thing to do when you don't have exactly the right colour.

"Dream" Layout & Some Cards
By Di Garling

Hello everyone, thanks for calling by the blog. Today I wanted to show you a page  I did a little while back which I used one of the NEW larger "Heirloom" Fabric Flowers on. Now I needed a grey flower to go with my layout & unfortunately I didn't have one, soooooo I used a black one & gave it a light spray with a White mist & hey presto, I had a grey one. Too easy. I have also used a smaller size chippie word "Dream" from
 2 Crafty of course.

I have also used some gorgeous Green Tara Roses which I  also sprayed a couple with the white mist to create grey ones. I threw in my favourite Green Tara White Gardenias which I lightly inked with silver to create a grey look to fit in with my colour scheme. If you look closely at the roses  you will see I have curled the wires to create little tendrils. Just a nice finish to such a sweet flower.

I have used yet another Green Tara product on my page as well, one of their many  beautiful laces. They have so many beautiful laces sometimes it is hard to choose which one to use!!!

This was a gorgeous pic of my lovely God Daughter when she was about eight months pregnant & I wanted a layout that  showcased these pics well. I thought lovely pics, lovely flowers & lace, all so girly.
I hope I have given you some inspiration for your next project. Think outside the square when it comes to flowers!!!

Now For Some Cards

I made these cards the other week for a Card Class I was holding at my shop. I do love this colour combination & I absolutely love this Green Tara Satin Edged Organza Ribbon. I think it really makes a statement. I have used some gorgeous 2 Crafty chipboard Card Greeting Words & one of their beautiful Butterflies as well. I have teamed it with some Green Tara Roses, Cherry Blossoms & some hand made flowers  I made up as well. I have also used  one of  the Green Tara  Flower Sprays on the card on the right. Because these Flower Sprays are wired, I just twist the wire to make it look a little bit more real & then I curve it to go around the doiley on the front of my card.

"So Pretty" Layout & Card
by Jan Rankine

As soon as I saw this beautiful photo of my friend’s daughter’s wedding.
I knew just what Green Tara flowers would match perfectly.

"Heirloom" & "Sakura" flowers along with  some velvet leaves and lace, add a touch of  bling &
voila, all finished.

More lace, roses of course, and a couple of these cute little Green Tara  bows – just perfect.

2 Crafty chipboard works so well and combined with Green Tara Lace, makes the page complete.

Of course, with my leftovers  I had to make a card using flowers and lace and this little 2 Crafty chippie corner, it  is just the right size for a card.

Garden Girl Layout
2 Cards
Headband
by Vicky Alberto

I had this cute close-up shot of my daughter as a toddler but hated the background so I fussy cut her out and created a garden scene for her to sit in. Oh where to start... I used a mix of beautiful floral papers from Meg's Garden (Garden of Blue Flowers and Le Belle Jardin and French Garden collections) and started piling on chipboard, flowers, trim, a doily, pearl bling (yup basically the kitchen sink, LOL). I think I have nearly 25 Green Tara buds and flowers on this one!

Here is a close-up of my "garden" - purple gardenias, pink cherry blossoms, red rose buds and a beautiful large pink velvet rose from the newest product release

A Couple of Sentiments

Here I have used gorgeous Green Tara trims and flowers and papers from Meg's Garden Forget Me Not" collection. I actually made these from concept to completion in 45 minutes. Since I live 20 minutes from a shopping mall, well... that's 2 cards made in the same time as driving there and back and standing in line to pay for cards. I'm sure the recipients will appreciate handmade cards more than store-bought ones too!

I cut one piece of paper to make these 2 cards. This first one is a more feminine in style, pulling out the cream in the paper and accenting with pearl beads and butterflies to compliment the pretty gardenias, cherry blossoms, cream and olive trim - that matched this paper so perfectly. I LOVE the new Green Tara lattice trims!

For my second card, I played up the black and green in the paper to be able to be able to give this to a man. Men like flowers too (my hubby gardens while I scrap, LOL!). These green cherry blossoms really pop against the vintage inspired paper and work well with the gold tones in the paper (that I also enhanced with some bling). This time I used the lattice trim in black.

Acrylic Bead Headed

My daughter LOVES headbands so when Green Tara sent me a plain plastic headband and a challenge to "dress it up", well I just couldn't resist creating another pretty headband for her. I immediately grabbed some of their beautiful pearl trim, an acrylic bead flower and a dragonfly. Helmar's strong holding 450 quick dry  was just the right glue I needed for a long-lasting bond of all the pretty elements you see here. Aren't these embellishments just gorgeous?

I gave her the headband on the morning of her 4th birthday, and she wore it all day long - full of smiles!

Thanks for letting me share this & my other projects  with you today!

Two Layouts by JJ Sobey

"When I started to make a layout with these yummy "Authentique" papers, I knew right away which flowers I wanted to use.  The colours are perfect with these new Green Tara

I can't get enough of these White Velvet Leaves - so feminine!  They come wired, so I curled the ends for a little added 'greenery', ahem...   You can also see some of the Pleated Organza and
 Loop Trim in this close-up.

This Organza Butterfly on Wire trim is a nice touch of whimsy.  I like that it's lightly wired - makes it easy to make it sit exactly the way you want."

Green Tara Products Used

Flowers - Sakura coral (XF9221Cor), Sakura lime (XF9221Li),
               Sakura lilac (XF9221L)
Leaves -   Velvet Leaves white (XL266WhP)
Ribbon -   25mm Pleated Organza ivory (RB316Iv)
Trims -    7mm loop trim olive (RBDAOl), 25mm Organza Butterfly on Wire - off white (RB6764OW)

"Bowling"

"I headed straight for my Green Tara flowers and trims to embellish the page - and found these beauties (Damask 8cm Fabric and Organza Flower Aqua, Heirloom 6.5cm Silk and Organza Flowers Dusky Pink, and Grey Blue):

You can also see a couple of the white Velvet Leaves, and the cream Spray nestled in with the larger flowers.

I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry on all the flowers, trims and embellishments.  It has the strength to hold without needing gobs of glue that will show on things like this white Lattice ribbon.  I tucked a few of the white petals around the paper layers as well.

Have you seen the '"Organza Butterfly on Wire" trims yet?  They are fun and playful, and some of the colours would totally work on 'boy' pages, too!"

Leaves - Velvet Leaves 3cm White (XL266Wh)
Ribbon - 25mm Lattice White (RB6735Wh)

"Shontay" by Tina Dalton

I had so much fun creating this layout, I am totally loving the laces and
the gorgeous Leaf Trim is an awesome addition to your layouts. I also love
just how easily all the newer and older  flowers work together so well to create
fabulous  clusters. There is always a flower or bloom to fit just perfectly in
the right spot and the colors are perfect too.

Welcome to this months
Guest Designer
Keren Tamir

Hello everyone. Can you believe we are in June already, where has the year gone? This month we have another great Guest Designer, Keren Tamir, all the way from Canada. If you haven't seen Kerens work, let me tell you you are in for a treat. Keep an eye out throughout June to see more of Kerens fabulous work.
Di

My name is Keren Tamir and I'm 37 years old. I am a wife to a wonderful husband who is very supportive of my scrapbooking hobby and a mother of two amazing kids; a 10 year old boy and a 5 years old girl. I've been scrapbooking for 8 years and I mainly scrapbook about my family. I love to create and experiment with many different mediums and techniques.
I believe my style is shabby chic vintage with a hint of whimsy. I love designing with flowers, butterflies, doilies and lace. I scrapbook mainly layouts however I do love making mini-albums and cards. Every once in a while I like getting a little grungy and distressing my pages with many paints, mists and inks. My style is always evolving and that’s one of the things I love about this hobby.
One of the main reasons why I started scrapbooking was to preserve memories and photos for my children and grandchildren. However in this past year, I’ve started to enjoy another aspect of scrapbooking. I love the artistic outlet that it gives me. It has become an obsession, a healthy addiction which helps me relax in life. I love it so much and I hope to scrapbook for many years to come!!
I’m so happy to be this month Guest Designer at Green Tara!!
Keren

Here is my layout using many pink and white Green Tara flowers, lace and ribbon. I like having lots of layers on my layouts.

One way of achieving depth in a layout is to use flowers of different textures and heights. I used many different Green Tara flowers. I used pop-dots to raise some of the flowers to achieve difference in height.

I even cut one of the flowers in half and placed it under the picture to add another layer.

Finally placing leaves around the flowers ties the whole picture together."
Thanks for looking.

"Garden Kids" by Linda Thompson

Created on a canvas using melted crayons, texture paste, paint and
Green Tara goodies.

Paint the background in whatever colour you like, Then using a stencil and texture paste  I have added a little grey paint so you can create the clouds at the top.

Attach your crayons in a row to the bottom of the canvas you can either leave the packets on or remove them as I have done. Now the fun but messy part, lay some newspaper down and holding your canvas upside down you can use a hair dryer or heat gun to start to melt the crayons, a little at a time, as they begin to drip, move your canvas around so it creates long strings of wax, these will become your stems, doing a little at a time will give you more control over your design. Continue until you are happy with the design you have created.

I have then removed a few of the middle crayons and added texture paste and popped some small pebbles I found in my garden into the texture paste to create a path, I added brown paint to the texture paste this time. You can also use fish tank pebbles as these are small.

Take some care when handling your canvas as a lot of big movements can cause your wax to crack to solve this just slightly heat it again to melt the cracked area.

You can then decorate the canvas however you want, I have just used a chipboard fence painted in white & just added some crackle paint along with Green Tara goodies.

Green Tara Products Used

* Petals in a couple of colours in 7cm, 5cm & 4cm sizes all folded in half then in quarters to create a small bunch of flowers above the fence line.
* Flower vines in Gold & Cream
Roses in 1cm Yellow and 1.5cm in various sizes
Apple blossoms in various colours.
Self adhesive leaf garland cut up to create single leaves

Until next time.   Linda T.
